by admin

I have just returned from a trip to Mexico, the beautiful, friendly Merida. It was a nice break. At home in the states we have buried in the snow. Merida was dynamic, rich and dramatic. My husband and I have just the process of buying a business. We were so busy learning that is running things in place on the floor. So this trip to Mexico was absolutely what the doctor ordered. It was a short visit, but the variety and scenery was very refreshing. One of our goals was to experience first-hand furniture in our houses of colonial Merida. We have to see the charm and appeal of very unique city.

Merida is a Mexican city like no other:

* Merida growth, development, molting. You see, recently renovated buildings from the colonial period, in addition to the dilapidated, next utility of small houses. The contrasts are fascinating – the big occasions.
* People of Merida are warm, friendly, polite. They want to communicate with you. They want their city with you, without sharing in return.
* This is a city of magnificent churches, modern restaurants, spectacular sunsets and a relaxed pace of life, trade and busy streets is safe … all in an attractive package.
* Merida, for me, is likely to find a Mexican wife great awakening for the new youth offer interests and opportunities.
* Merida is a city of great art and craft, fine houses and fine furniture from Mexico, with a beautiful interior.

Suggestions:

If you can be the center of it all, the creation of “Centro Merida, where one places (squares) for fresh, local color and beautiful flowers and see the different architecture. If this is your choice but be prepared for traffic, busy streets and lots on foot.

Be sure to visit the north of Merida, with its beautiful villas and upscale restaurants. Ask your driver to take you to the Paseo Montejo, or better yet a romantic horse-drawn carriage up the avenue.

If your conversation partner in Merida, you probably will not feel the need to move – they are warm, friendly and they want you to learn about their city – nothing more. Feel free to converse with them, ask questions and share your comments. This in itself is very nice and refreshing.
